The Master of Theology (Th.M) in the Reformed Theology Program is aimed at students who wish to undertake advanced studies in a specific theological field of study:
- To provide for the needs of excellent Christian Leadership today.
- To answer the requests of the Christian community for an effective Training in the reformed and evangelical context.
- To continue with the program of providing graduate courses.
The Th.M. in Reformed Studies is an academic two-year degree awarded to participants who complete 30 credit hours of course work, pass the comprehensive examination and complete 6 credit hours of thesis. It is designed to deepen theological training, to sharpen necessary skills for scholarly engagements, and to prepare theologians and educators in the Reformed tradition for teaching, research and leadership in an Asian context.

Asia Graduate School of Theology (AGST) is the educational arm of the Asia Theological Association (ATA) that offers postgraduate programs in several countries in Asia. AGST-Philippines is a consortium of eight seminaries that have been working together since 1984.

M.Div. degree or equivalent with a grade point average of B+ from a recognized/accredited seminary. Submission of a substantial graduate quality research paper in English reflecting in-depth study of a topic broadly related to the applicant’s area of interest (minimum of 5,000 words) at least 12 units of Theology, 12 units of Biblical Studies, and 12 units of Biblical Languages.
For applicants whose first language is not English, a TOEFL score of at least 550 is required, or a duly certified demonstration of English proficiency for graduate level work.
Applicants must submit:
- Application form with a recent 2×2 colored picture
- Official transcript of records of college and graduate degrees
- Medical Form
- Financial Statement
- Letter of Recommendation from an administrator or supervisor, former teacher, and current pastor
- Statement of personal commitment to Christ and call to Christian service
- Copy of a recent graduate level English research paper of at least 5,000 words
- TOEFL Score or Certificate of English Proficiency

Research Project Procedures
Theological Research Methods is designed to help participants get accustomed to standard graduate research format and produce a thesis proposal for approval by a thesis committee composed of the thesis mentor and program director or associate program director.
Teaching practicum can be performed in any AGST member school under the supervision and evaluation of faculty from any AGST member school. Comprehensive Examinations may be written right after course work.
It is recommended that participants prepare for the comprehensive examinations right after passing the thesis proposal in consultation with thesis mentor and program department. Thesis shall be 90-120 pages in length, compliant to pre-approved research format, and an original work with a unique scholarly contribution that tackles implications for issues in the Asian context.
